Metin T. Sönmez, born in 1963 in Istanbul and grew up between the ages 8-18 near Cologne, where he had his education at the Kaethe-Kollowitz-Gymnasium Wesseling.

After returning to Istanbul, been luckily introduced to the General Manager of a renowned Shipping Agency, namely Mr. Ayhan Sungar (R.I.P.), from whom he learned the essence of Shipping.

Meanwhile working over 4 decades (41 years) in the local shipping industry, he newly founded MYCOSHIP Ltd. at Istanbul, which is the Sister Company of Myconia UG in Cologne, founded in 2012, with the intention to even strengthen more his business bridge between Turkey and Germany, as well as throughout the world.
